Fredonia's distance medley records in both genders were broken over the weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University.

A new men's record was established Friday by the quartet of Bobby Cooper (Macedon, N.Y./Gananda), Nick Watson (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta), Collin Mulcahy (Batavia/Batavia), and Kyle Collins (Suffern/Suffern). Their 10:10.83 clocking overtook the previous record of 10:11.43 set last year by Zakk Hess, Jonmichael Knapp, Watson, and Mulcahy.

The women's record was broken Saturday by Hannah Kurbs (Lockport/Lockport), Brittany Feldman (Jamestown/Southwestern), Bonnie Binggeli (Walworth/Gananda), and Laura Morrison (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) in 12:18.78. The old mark of 12:36.49 was set in March 2013 by Lauren Kotas, Leslie Beaton, Katie Tresino, and Amanda Cocchiara.

Kurbs also ran the fastest 3,000-meters ever by a Fredonia freshman with a time of 10:43.96 on Friday. The old record was held by Lauren Truby -- 11:16.01 in February 2011.

Other top performances Saturday included Collins running a 8:29.22 in the 3,000 meters, the second fastest indoor time in program history; and a personal-best 4:11.32 mile by Mulcahy.
