SUNY Fredonia announced that Dr. Beez Schell has been appointed to a three-year term as Chair of the Department of Sport Management and Exercise Science, effective July 1, 2010. Although best known on campus in her role as Director of the Professional Development Center, she is also a Professor in the Department of Sport Management and Exercise Science and is well suited for this leadership position. She was formerly a faculty member and graduate program coordinator in the Department of Kinesiology at Sonoma State University (California), where she also served as a member of the accreditation team.
Professor Penny Hite has been Interim Chair of the department of Sport Management and Exercise Science since March 29.
