SUNY Fredonia is featuring guest speaker and linguist Stephen Krashen from the University of Southern California in the talk, “English Learners In American Schools: 101 Questions, 101 Answers,” on April 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.

The event is free, but ticketed due to limited seating. Tickets can be obtained from the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office at 716-673-3501. Sponsors include the Fredonia College of Education and the Dunkirk public school district. A reception will precede his talk.

Krashen is a linguist, an educational researcher, and noted activist who Krashen has made major contributions to the fields of second language acquisition, bilingual education, and reading. He is credited with introducing various influential concepts and terms in the study of second language acquisition, including the distinction between acquisition and learning.

All ticket holders will receive a free copy of Krashen’s new book: English Learners in American Schools: 101 Questions, 101 Answers (co-authored with James Crawford).
