The Office of Volunteer and Community Services in conjunction with the Volunteer Services Advisory Committee at SUNY Fredonia is organizing its fourth annual Community Service Fair. The Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, Williams Center.

The Fair will highlight volunteer opportunities and is one of the many ways the Office of Volunteer and Community Services seeks to build a partnership between the campus and the community. The purpose of the event is to educate the campus community about what agencies do and what their needs are. Agency representatives will be distributing literature about what their organization offers and talk to students and other interested campus community members about volunteering.

Some of the participating agencies to include:

  • United Way
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Compeer for Youth
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • LDA of Western New York
  • Lakeshore Humane Society
  • Trooper Toys for Tots
  • Chautauqua Rural Ministries
  • Literacy Volunteers
  • Centaur Stride
  • American Red Cross
  • Chautauqua Blind Association
  • and more.

For more information, students and all interested can contact Joyce H. Smith at 716-673-3690 or visit the Volunteer Services website.
