Tyler Jacobson, a science fiction and fantasy illustrator whose diverse clients range from Dungeons & Dragons to publishers Simon & Schuster to The New Yorker magazine, will explore how his professional career in the world of illustration is connected to business at the next Arts and Business Luncheon on Friday, March 3, at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
Mr. Jacobsen earned a M.F.A. in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2009 and has received numerous awards, including the Jack Gaughan Award for Best Emerging Artist 2010 and Communication Arts 2013 Award of Excellence. He has also created illustrations for Rolling Stone, the Penguin Group, Toyota Motor Corporation and Sports Illustrated.
In his talk, the Seattle-based illustrator will explore the ties between the arts, business and table-top gaming.
Registration for the free noontime program is required. Seating is limited and expected to fill quickly. A lunch will also be served. For more information and to register for the event, contact the incubator at 716-680-6009 or go online.
The Arts and Business Luncheon series is offered through the support of Fredonia Marion Gallery Director Barbara Räcker as an extension of the Visiting Artist Program and Ralph Blasting, dean of Fredonia’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.
