“Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Muhammad Ali Jinnah did all three.”
The quote by scholar Stanley Wolpert is used as the opening of “Jinnah,” an award-winning 1998 film about the life of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of modern Pakistan. The film will be screened Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in Thompson Hall Room W101. Jinnah was described by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, as “one of the most extraordinary men in history.”
This screening, hosted by Dr. Markus Vink and the History Club, is free and open to the campus and local community.
