Fredonia Enactus will host the “Bucketz for Billups” 3 on 3 basketball tournament in honor of alumnus Amir Billups to raise funds for the Dunkirk Boys and Girls Club of America on Saturday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m. in Dods Hall.
The event will commemorate the life of Mr. Billups, a star athlete in Western New York who played basketball at Fredonia. Billups passed away on Feb. 14 in a car accident outside of Columbus, Ohio. Multiple student groups on campus have come together to support the event including the Rotaract Club, Fred Fit, Club Basketball and Brother to Brother.
All proceeds from this event will go to the BGCA in Dunkirk. Teams will consist of four players, ages 16 and up. The cost of registration for the tournament is $20 per team.
To register a team, contact Ryan Holt at holt7896@fredonia.edu, or visit the Fitness Center in Dods Hall to pick up and drop off registration forms. There will also be a registration table at the event from 3 to 4 p.m.
