Fredonia Enactus and the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County will work together for the second annual D’Vine Experience on Sept. 12, a bicycle rally and food tasting competition.
The partnership is focused upon building awareness of UWNCC and its mission to promote its three core values: health, education and income. Enactus and The United Way share the vision of highlighting the assets along the lake including museums that showcase the grape industry and products made from the grapes.
There will be two parts of the experience, the Tour D’Vine Bicycle Rally that will start at 9 a.m., followed by the Taste of Chautauqua Along the Lake to run from noon until 3 p.m. at the Grape Discovery Center at 8305 West Main Road, Westfield. A family friendly event, the “taste” at the center will also include free hayrides, parades, an art show and music by Fredonia students. Children can join the bike rally fun by decorating their bicycles and parading them in front of judges. Also participating will be the Safety Village and Spoke Folk.
The Tour D’Vine Bicycle Rally will consist of two separate routes. The Slow Roll is a scenic ride highlighted by three local wineries, approximately five miles in length. The Enthusiast Route is 27.9 miles long where one can enjoy the beautiful Northern Chautauqua countryside. Admission for the bicycle rally is $30 for ages 15 and older. Children under 15 with an adult will be free. With the entry fee, one will receive a free t-shirt and five food tickets.
The Taste of Chautauqua Along the Lake entails sweet and savory food and wine pairings from 11 local restaurants and wineries located in Chautauqua County. Tickets will be sold for Taste of Chautauqua for $1 each with the option of a wine tasting pass for $10.
