Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Terry Brown and Associate Provost for Curriculum, Assessment and Academic Support Lisa Hunter led an eight-person Fredonia contingent at the kick-off ceremony of Scheduling for Student Success at the SUNY Center for Professional Development in Syracuse on March 23.

The goal of Scheduling for Student Success, a three-year comprehensive analysis of course offerings, course capacity and space utilization, is to facilitate the development of course schedules that enable students to complete their degree in four years.

Fredonia, which was granted $420,000 from SUNY to lead the study, is partnering with SUNY Oneonta, State University College of Technology at Alfred, Dutchess Community College and Schenectady County Community College.

At the kick-off gathering, Drs. Brown and Hunter and Tom Shaver, CEO, Ad Astra Information Systems, addressed topics including project goals, additional metrics to include all institutions, consortium member support, organizational structures that benefit the collaboration and marketing of the collaboration.
