Fredonia was recognized recently with several awards for excellence in design and publications.
At the Twenty-sixth Excalibur Awards presented on June 18 by the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. In the Campaigns category under Reputation/Brand Management, Fredonia won a Silver award for the entry, “The Evolution Continues: Fredonia Re-brands to Make New Friends but Keep the Old.” In addition, Associate Professor Ann Carden of the Department of Communication was the recipient of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of PRSA Board of Directors’ Distinguished Service Award. Ms. Carden is a member of the PRSA College of Fellows, a group comprised of some of the country’s top practitioners and educators.
At the annual State University of New York Council for University Advancement’s annual educational conference in June in Rochester, designer Patty Herkey received the Best of Category award in the Advertising category (Total Campaign subcategory) for the Fredonia Rebranding in the annual Awards for Excellence program. She also received a Judges Citation in the Special Events category for work done for the October 2014 Science Center dedication.
Earlier this year, Fredonia was the recipient of a Silver Addy at the 2015 Western New York Addy Awards for the Science Center dedication materials in the Collateral Materials category from the Advertising Club of Buffalo.
