Fredonia has established a first-of-its-kind agreement with the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University of Albany to offer a combined bachelor’s and master’s program open to all majors.

The program between Fredonia and the Rockefeller College gives undergraduate students the opportunity to join Rockefeller’s nationally ranked Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program before graduation. Eligible students are granted admission to Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy during their junior year without the need to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). After the students complete the bachelor’s degree, the M.P.A. degree can be completed in one-and-a-half years. By finishing a semester early, students will save a full semester of tuition and fees.

Jonathan Chausovsky, faculty advisor for the program, will be hosting an information session for Fredonia students on Tuesday March 10 at 5 p.m., in the Politics and International Affairs Reading Room, Thompson Hall Room E-369. For more information, contact Dr. Chausovsky at chausovs@fredonia.edu.

Rockefeller’s nationally ranked M.P.A. program provides training in public administration in a variety of specialized fields. Concentrations include Public Management, Public Finance, Nonprofit Management, Health Policy, Homeland Security, Policy Analysis, Information Strategy and Management, and Local Government Management.

A master’s degree in Public Administration allows students to develop a wide range of job possibilities. Graduates are prepared for careers in nonprofit organizations, federal, state, and local governments, and for-profit organizations that coordinate with the public sector.
