Dr. Nancy Gee of the Department of Psychology co-authored a new paper in the Journal of Applied Developmental Science. The paper reviews current challenges to research on animal-assisted interventions.
It is the second publication for Dr. Gee in the month of February, and the lead paper in a special series of papers on the topic of "Animal Assisted Interventions in Special Populations" in the journal. The article frames the discussion to follow in the series by discussing current challenges to conducting research on the impact of animal-assisted interventions in special populations (e.g., individuals on the Autism spectrum or with ADHD).
