Fredonia has chosen The Chautauqua County Health Network, The Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center and Lake Erie N.Y. Chapter 4 Blue Star Mothers of America to participate in the public relations capstone’s 2015 Community Partners Program.

Throughout the program, upper-level undergraduate students will display the skills they have gained throughout their education to provide the community partners with the assistance needed to promote their services at no extra cost.

Students of the course separate into groups to act as competing public relations firms. The students will use their knowledge of the public relations profession to create the strongest strategic campaign to offer to their assigned organization at the end of the semester. The three organizations were chosen from 11 applicants.

The Chautauqua County Health Network is a rural health network of over 150 health care providers and community-based organizations funded by the New York State Department of Health. Students will work with the network’s Creating Healthy Places program, which aims to prevent type-2 diabetes and obesity by creating a more active and healthy community.

The Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center provides child care for children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years. Through focusing on the specific needs of each child, the staff strives to be the most high-quality child care agency as possible.

Lake Erie N.Y. Chapter 4 Blue Star Mothers of America is compiled of military mothers. The nonprofit is looking to promote its services of support for fellow military parents, as well as encourage patriotism throughout local communities.

“I’ve seen the drive that these students have, and I have no doubt that they will succeed in helping these organizations,” said Fredonia President Virginia Horvath.
