Fredonia senior Justyn Haines cleared 15 feet, 1 inch to win the men's pole vault at Saturday's St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic outdoor track and field meet. Freshman teammate Jonah McGrath cleared 4.25 meters to tie for third.

Other top Fredonians in field events included senior Damone Brown, the second-place finisher in both the shot put and discus with throws of 14.22 meters and 41.00 meters, respectively. Freshmen finished third and fourth in the triple jump. Dan Sudyn was third at 13.32 meters and McGrath fourth at 13.00 meters. Another freshman, Devin Wiencek, was third in the javelin at 41.79 meters. Jordan Toland, a sophomore, was sixth in the discus at 37.61 meters.

The Fredonia men's 4 x 400-meter relay finished third in 3:35.12. The quartet consisted of senior Chase Towse, freshman Michael Salvati, senior Mitch Loiacano, and freshman Marcus Torres. Salvati and Torres were joined by Sudyn and Haines to finish fourth in the 4 x 100-meter relay in 45.71 seconds.
