The initial session of Path to Wellness, a monthly series hosted by the Employee Assistance Program that assists Fredonia employees with life’s joys and challenges, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, at noon, in the Reed Library Tower Lounge.

The role that happiness plays in a healthy and productive life will be the topic of the first session, led by Chris Taverna, coordinator of technology training at the Professional Development Center. Taverna will lead a discussion of “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor, a leading expert on the connection between happiness and success. In his book, Anchor presents seven principles of happiness and success based on his research and experience consulting companies around the world.

Path to Wellness presentations, given by Fredonia staff and local agencies dedicated to wellness, will cover an array of topics from how to lead a happier and more productive life to Disney trip planning. Sessions are held on the third Thursday of each month during the academic year and are free and open to all faculty, staff and retirees. Attendees may bring their lunch to the sessions.
