The Fredonia Department of Athletics and Director Joan Disbrow will be offering a 10-week ice skating program for the Fredonia campus and community. Fredonia’s Figure Skating Club will also be involved with the program.

Not only will people learn how to skate, but there will be a holiday show at the end of the 10 weeks. Classes will be held at Steele Hall Ice Rink and begin Sunday, Oct. 4, running through December. Registration is now open.

There are different programs being held for different skill levels. On Sundays, from 1 until 2 p.m. there will be classes offered for beginners, ages four and up, through badge seven experienced ice skaters. On Tuesday nights, from 6:15 until 7:15 p.m., there will be classes for beginner adults. Each of these sessions will include 30 minutes of instruction followed by a 30 minute practice period.

Beginners can register for the 10 week program at $90 with experienced figure skaters at $110. Skate rental is available for $4 per week.

Joan Disbrow is the director and head coach for Fredonia’s learn to skate program.
