The second segment of the Fredonia Technology Incubator’s Entrepreneurial Workshop Series, “Best Practices in the People Cycle and Labor Law Compliance,” will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the incubator at 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Erica Reger, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, of Employer Services Corporation, will conduct the workshop designed for startup companies in the incubator as well as entrepreneurs, community members and university students, staff and faculty. Seating is limited. Reservations for the free workshop can be placed at www.fredonia.edu/incubator.

"We are pleased to continue this workshop series to promote entrepreneurial education with an event focused on human resource needs for community businesses," said Incubator Director Chuck Cornell.

At the workshop, participants will learn effective strategies in each stage of the people cycle while remaining compliant with current labor laws. Best practices will be shared for recruiting and selecting employees and new hire on-boarding and coaching as well as progressive discipline and separation. Common labor law compliance concerns and questions will also be addressed.
