Students can learn about Fredonia’s B.A./M.P.A. joint degree program with the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the State University of New York at Albany during an information session to be held on Thursday, Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m., Williams Center Room S204E.
Tara Heffernan, coordinator of graduate admissions at Rockefeller College, will discuss careers in public affairs and policy and also present details of the B.A./M.P.A program.
Eligible students can earn streamlined admission into the Rockefeller program. Three graduate courses will count both towards a Fredonia undergraduate degree as well as the Rockefeller M.P.A. degree. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) entrance exam requirement will be waived for qualifying students.
Rockefeller is ranked in the top 20 nationally in specializations that include: non-profit management, local government management, homeland security, health policy, healthcare management, information strategy and management, policy analytic methods, organizational behavior and theory, financial management and public economics, human resources management and financial market regulation.
Its pipeline of employers includes local, state and federal agencies and offices as well as non-profits and for-profit consulting firms. The placement rate for M.P.A. graduates over the last three years is over 96 percent within nine months of graduation, with an average starting salary of over $52,000.
The information session, sponsored by Fredonia’s Politics and International Affairs Department and Career Development Office, is free to students.
