International Education Week is meant to "be an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States," says Erin Willis, assistant director of study abroad.
The Office of International Education has collaborated with individuals and departments on campus including the Center for Multicultural Affairs (CMA), Residence Life, World Languages and Cultures, International Student Services, and the School of Music.

The Office of International Education has a goal to advance Fredonia’s commitment to raise awareness of global interdependence and celebrate the richness of cultural diversity. By identifying and promoting the international accomplishments of our students, faculty, professional staff and community members, the OIE will contribute to the development of international programming that stimulates academic inquiry and enhances cultural dialogue. We encourage students and faculty to work with us by sharing their creative energy, experiences and ideas to seek support of their work through our initiatives.
