The performing talent and culinary skills of Fredonia’s international students will take center stage at Cultural Explosion on Friday, April 15, 6:30 p.m., in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
“We want to showcase international and internationally minded students at Fredonia in terms of their talent in the performing arts - singing and dancing,” explained Jacob Czelusta, assistant director of International Student Services. In the cooking competition, four student organizations (Korean Club, Japanese Club, African Student Union and International Club) will prepare a chicken-based dish that is unique to a specific culture.
Audience members will determine the most talented performer, while a 10-member panel of faculty members and students will select the winning dish. In a matter of a few days, that newly honored recipe will be featured at the Cranston Marche.
Finger foods representing various ethnicities will be served during the program, which is free and open to the public.
Participating groups include the Japanese Club, African Student Union, Korean International Student Society, the Faculty Student Association, International Student Services and Campus Life.
