Science Education Professor Michael Jabot has been selected as an inaugural member of the Peer Educator Network for Facing the Future, whose work focuses on the creation of curriculum materials that help students see and engage with the world through the lens of sustainability.
The materials to be assembled will promote learner centered approaches that support students in development of critical thinking skills, global awareness and a sense of agency. Dr. Jabot's specific work will focus on issues of sustainable energy and the application of these technologies to meet growing demand.
In addition to this curriculum development, Jabot will offer professional development for teachers to support their use of the materials and the integration of education for sustainability into their professional practice.
