Michael Jabot, professor of Science Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, served as lead presenter at the North American Regional Meeting for Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program held at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Dr. Jabot led the group with representatives from across the nation on the use of question formulation and field investigations for development of student research. The GLOBE Program is an international science and education effort that provides students and the public worldwide with the opportunity to participate in data collection and the scientific process, and contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the Earth system and global environment.

Jabot has also been elected to the Advisory Board for the Journal of Global Education and Research (JGER). The focus of Dr. Jabot's work on the board will center on global science initiatives and appropriate technologies.

In addition, Jabot has been awarded a grant to support climate education across the region by the Chautauqua Education Coalition through support by National Grid. The funds awarded will expand the growing Regional Climate Network developed by Jabot.
