Mathematics alumnus and May graduate Mark Kleehammer presented the talk, "Star Studded Mathematics," at the Mathematical Association of America's Mathfest in Madison, Wis., on Aug. 3.
The talk was based on his research conducted to complete the honors program in SUNY Fredonia's Department of Mathematical Sciences, and was about the sum of the vertex angles in an arbitrary star.
Mark won one of the MAA's student awards for his presentation.
He is now attending graduate school in mathematics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
