School of Business Assistant Professor Susan McNamara was one of six advisors chosen – from a pool of over 50 applicants – to serve on the Enactus Faculty Advisory Committee.

It is the mission of that committee, comprised of not more than 25 members, to help Enactus USA to shape policy and serve as the primary communication channel between advisors, teams and colleges, as well as Enactus USA Headquarters. Dr. McNamara’s three-year term on the committee began Sept. 1.

Enactus USA decides how many members will serve on the board by examining Enactus USA’s presence and operational and geographical structure.

The advisory committee appointment is the latest honor received by Dr. McNamara, who also serves as internship coordinator for the Department of Business Administration and advisor of Fredonia’s Enactus chapter. Earlier this year, McNamara became one of two recipients of the Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow of the Year.

As an international organization, Enactus connects students and academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects. Student teams showcase the collective impact of their projects that make a social, economic and environmental impact in the community. Business leaders rank them on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those in need.
