Two multi-athletes and five men in field events accounted for all of Fredonia's scoring Friday and Saturday during the Brockport Golden Eagles Multi and Invitational collegiate track and field meet.

Nine of the Blue Devils' 38 points came in the heptathlon - five by sophomore Mitchel Paciga (Jeffersonville/Sullivan West) for finishing fifth, and four by junior Brendan Long (Millbrook/Pine Plains) for sixth. Paciga had an event score of 3,757 points; Long finished with 3,278.

Three Fredonia men scored in the 35-pound weight throw. senior Sawyer Bell (Middletown/Roy C. Ketchum) finished third at 15.99 meters for six points, senior Kyle Brown (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) was fifth at 15.08 meters for four points, and senior Hsin Chin (Pleasant View, N.Y. / Arlington) was sixth at 15.01 meters, good for three points.

Nick Serafin (Depew/Depew), a freshman, had Fredonia's highest placement. He finished second in men's high jump by clearing 1.88 meters and earning eight points. Finishing seventh -- and earning two points -- was sophomore Rocky Caparro (Staten Island/Susan E. Wagner) at 1.78 meters. Caparro also finished fourth and earned six points with a triple jump of 13.63 meters.

The Blue Devils finished eighth out of 17 teams.
