English Professor Aimee Nezhukumatathil has had two books accepted for publication in 2018. Her fourth book of poems, “Oceanic,” will be published by Copper Canyon Press, the nation's largest independent publisher of poetry.

Poems from the collection have been published in Poetry, New England Review, BuzzFeed and the Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day feature, which is distributed to over 300,000 readers.

Her book of nature essays, “World of Wonder,” is slated for publication by Milkweed Editions, based in Minneapolis, Minn. The collection unveils the mysteries of the world by discussing little-known animals, plants and natural phenomenon in the context of the author’s unusual childhood and navigating the parent-push towards science while finding herself drawn toward language. Essays from the collection have won a Glenna Luschei Prize from the journal Prairie Schooner, and have been published in Guernica Magazine and Indiana Review, among others.
