To recognize great strides achieved to internationalize the campus in recent years, the Office of International Education has created the Global Initiative Awards to honor the passionate students, faculty and staff who have made direct contributions to advance the goal at Fredonia.

The inaugural awards will be given to one student from the Class of 2017, one faculty member and one staff member. The nomination process is open to students, faculty and staff, and self-nominations will also be accepted. All nominations are to be submitted online through the following links:

Student Nomination online form.

Faculty/Staff Nomination online form.

Nominations will be accepted until March 10.

Student nominees will have shown exemplary commitment to international education through campus/community involvement, academic involvement and leadership experience. Students must be planning to graduate in May or August 2017.

Faculty and staff nominated for the award will have displayed professional commitment to international education through campus/community involvement, academic or professional commitments and leadership experience. Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Assistance with flight arrangements is available from the Office of International Education. More details on eligibility are available on the nomination page links.

Nominators should have a clear sense of academic and campus activities that nominees have taken part in and be able to display how these commitments have contributed to internationalization at Fredonia.

The awards will be presented at the International Education end of the year ceremony on Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.
