Eric Williams of Batavia, N.Y., has been named Student of the Month for November by the Office of Residence Life.
Mr. Williams was nominated for this award by Alicia Wroblewski, Residence Life agency program aide, and Daniel Goodwin, assistant director of Residence Life and Townhouse coordinator. Ms. Wroblewski and Mr. Goodwin spoke very highly of Williams and his strong work ethic and dedication to Residence Life. They noted, “He is able to take on a task and complete it with little to no direction. Eric will take on tasks no matter how menial, even if it means making beds and preparing rooms for department guests. Eric has also served as the Move-In Crew Coordinator for the past three years. In this role Eric communicates with and oversees the many groups that volunteer and work the move-in weekend event. He monitors their efforts, supplies them with water to keep them hydrated and is responsible for the Volunteer Service sheets required for that office. Eric takes additional steps to be a valued member of the office staff and member of our Residence Life Family!”
Williams is very involved on campus. He is a part of Gospel Choir, Brother 2 Brother, Black Student Union, Residence Life and the Christian Worship Center. When asked his favorite thing about Fredonia, Williams said, “I love the people that I have come in contact with since coming to Fredonia. A lot of the relationships that I have built since being here I believe will be relationships that will last for a lifetime. From co-workers to professors, I have been impacted in a positive way by a majority of them. I will forever hold on to the memories that I have made here.”
His future plans include attending a Bible school in the area and earning a master’s degree in Christian Counseling under the Christian Worship Center.
The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and community. If you would like to nominate a student, an online application is available.
