“Moods, Mountains and Masterpieces. A Portrait of an Artist: Marcia Merrins,” a documentary by assistant professor of Communication Roslin Smith, will be screened at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House, 9 Church St., on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m.
Ms. Smith’s film about the Fredonia-based artist will be shown prior to the “David Hockney at the Royal Academy of the Arts” program in the opera house’s Arts and Architecture feature series. The documentary is part of a triptych by Smith that features three individual artists.
Samples of Merrins’ work, along with works by other local professional artists, will be on display in the adjoining village hall lobby before and after the screening.
Tickets to see the Smith documentary and the Hockney program, presented live in high definition, are $15 general admission and $10 for students.
