Orchesis Dance Company will present “Synergy” on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m., at the Fredonia Central High School auditorium at 425 E. Main Street (Route 20) in the village. The annual show will feature many talented Fredonia student dancers and choreographers performing various genres of dance including modern, jazz, hip hop and tap.

The new venue was selected to accommodate the growing audience for the dance group. Orchesis hopes to attract more community members with the new venue as well as maintain campus support.

Orchesis, a student-run dance organization, allows members to fulfill themselves through dance by facilitating creative and imaginative works, working collaboratively with student, and guest choreographers while strengthening their talents. The company was orchestrated in 1967 by Carol Prevet, a former professor of dance at Fredonia, and continues to be one of the largest Student Association constituted and highly-recognized organizations on campus nearly 40 years later.

Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time and tickets can be purchased before the performance through the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center, as well as at the event. Tickets are $3 for students and $7 for general admission. Attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and campus and community members are encouraged to attend.

For more information on the company and the performance, contact Lauren Orlowski, vice president of Orchesis Dance Company, at orlo2485@fredonia.edu or at 716-479-6572.
