John Malloy, an adjunct faculty member in the communication department, has won a Platinum Creativity Award for his illustration work on Peace Iced Tea cans, a product of Monster Energy/Hansen’s Beverage Co.
Professor Malloy was awarded from the 42nd annual Creativity International Awards, which is one of the longest running, independent advertising and graphic design competitions.
Malloy’s illustration won under the Print division, in the category of "Illustration Commercial Campaign."
In addition, Malloy’s "Occupy Wall Street" Limited Edition Prints are a part of the WBAI Radio Art Auction at Steven Kasher Gallery, located in New York City. Malloy has personally signed 10/50 of these prints. This exhibit/auction includes a wide range of artworks in all media by contemporary fine artists and photographers. The live event and exhibition will be held at the Steven Kasher Gallery on Nov. 7.
Malloy has an extensive background in fine art, illustration, comics, and design, in which he was self-taught. His fine art has been exhibited in galleries in Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Sydney, Atlanta, and Washington DC. Since the spring of 2012, Malloy has taught several classes at SUNY Fredonia within the Communication Department including Adjunct Electronic Darkroom, Desktop Publishing, and Multimedia Integration.
