On Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. beneath the international flags in Reed Library, the campus community is invited to gather to express and affirm the value of Fredonia’s diverse community and to show its support for those most affected by the recent presidential executive order.

Erin Willis, assistant director for Study Abroad, is coordinating the planning for the event. In addition to student and staff speeches and readings, the gathering will include a group reading of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Copies of the UDHR will be available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other languages (upon request).

Staff in the Office of International Education are working hard to keep abreast of the current situation regarding the executive order banning travel to the United States by citizens of certain countries. Director Naomi Baldwin has been on conference calls with SUNY Global and with the national organization for international education. She is also working with a team on campus to provide support to international faculty, staff, and students.
