A unique children’s theater experience will be offered when the Kaleidoscope Family Series at Rockefeller Arts Center presents the DuffleBag Theatre production of “Peter Pan” on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre at SUNY Fredonia.
Since 1992, the “Nearly World Famous” DuffleBag Theatre has become one of the most celebrated companies in North America, thanks to its interactive storytelling productions.vThe DuffleBag actors begin performances with the retelling of original adaptations of tales like “Peter Pan.”
Just when the audience becomes enthralled by the story, a twist is created. Selected audience members are asked to come up on stage and join in the action for a fun-filled, interactive theater experience.
This unpredictable performance is a hilarious experience for all ages and a truly unique theatrical event in which the dream of being part of the story actually does come true. “Peter Pan” is approximately 60 minutes long and is recommended for ages 6 through 12.
This Kaleidoscope Family Series event is part of the 2010-11 Lake Shore Savings Season. The series sponsor is the Star Media Group and the event sponsor is the Dunkirk Observer.
DuffleBag Theatre first visited Rockefeller Arts Center during the 2008-09 season with a sold-out presentation of “Beauty and the Beast.”
“We are very pleased to have DuffleBag Theatre back as part of our Kaleidoscope Family Series this season,” said Rockefeller Arts Center Director Jefferson Westwood. “Their performance of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ two years ago was a highlight of the season. Everyone had a wonderful time.”
With 13 different shows in its current repertoire, DuffleBag Theatre performs more than 600 times a year across Canada, the United States and internationally.
