A faculty recital features School of Music Professor of Piano Phyllis East on Tuesday, April 4 at 8 p.m. in the Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

Ms. East will welcome guest artist Claudia Hoca to the stage for a performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Sonata for Piano Four Hands in F Major, K. 497.” Ms Hoca is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and the recipient of numerous awards, including top prizes in the Chopin Young Pianist Competition and the Washington International Bach Competition. She has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops and the Philharmonia Virtuosi of New York.

Ms. East will also be joined by SUNY Fredonia School of Music faculty members Sarah Hamilton (oboe), James East (clarinet), John Gillette (bassoon) and Marc Guy (horn) for a performance of Mozart’s “Quintet in Eb, K. 452.”

A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and SUNY Fredonia, Ms. East has performed with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a past recipient of the SUNY Fredonia President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
