SUNY Fredonia President Dennis L. Hefner has called the traditional General Campus Meeting to open the fall semester this Friday, Aug. 21, at 9 a.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. He will open the meeting with a report to the campus on recent developments in SUNY and on campus. The president will also present honors and awards to several faculty and staff members who received Chancellor's Awards. Distinguished Service Professor H. Joseph Straight (mathematics) will be singled out for his award from the SUNY Board of Trustees.
Immediately following, a reception will be held outside of Rosch Recital Hall (toward Reed Library). In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the Williams Center multipurpose room.
Also at the meeting, new employees will be introduced in academic affairs, administration, student affairs, and university advancement.
Other reports will be deliveredy by University Senate Chairperson Bruce Simon, and UUP Chapter President Bridget Russell.
Recipients of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence will receive their medals from President Hefner. The honorees are
- Michael E. Jabot (Professor, College of Education): Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities
- Timothy J. McGraw(General Mechanic, Facilities Management): Excellence in Classified Service
- Kim L. Tillery (Associate Professor, Communication Disorders and Sciences): Excellence in Teaching
