In July, Professor Todd Proffitt of the Department of Theatre and Dance was appointed to a three-year term as Commissioner for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology's (USITT) Lighting Commission. The commission is responsible for conference programming, recognizing achievement in the area, special projects to serve the entertainment lighting industry and general service to the industry.
He has served the commission in different capacities for the last 12 years as Associate Commissioner, Light Lab Chair, Vice Commissioner for Communications and as a session chair. He will serve a three year term in this position.
