Two School of Business professors will give a presentation titled, "Escaping the Liquidity Trap of the Current Great Recession," a discussion of the Federal Reserve's response to the financial crash of 2008, and the economic and political difficulties that the country will face as a result.
Dr. Marwan El Nasser, professor of Economics, and Dr. Richard Robinson, professor of Business Administration, will lead this talk, the second Social Science Colloquium of the spring semester, on Monday, Mar. 8 at noon in Room E-305 of Thompson Hall. Students, faculty, and community members are welcomed to come join the discussion, which is sponsored by the Dean of Natural and Social Sciences.
For students, the presentation should also provide some insights on what to expect in the first few years following graduation. This is a way for the faculty members to directly address and prepare students for the economic challenges they will face.
The goal of the Social Science Colloquium series is to have faculty members share their scholarly work with students, other faculty and community members. Speakers are traditionally chosen who are currently engaged in projects that will be of interest to a broad audience, resulting in stimulating presentations and a lively exchange of ideas that bring the campus together as a community of learners and scholars. Please contact Dr. Jack Croxton, professor of psychology and coordinator of the Social Science Colloquium, for more information.
SUNY Fredonia's College of Natural and Social Sciences is comprised of several departments including biology, business, biochemistry, chemistry, computer and information science, economics, geosciences, mathematics, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, speech pathology and audiology, sports management and exercise science.
