HAIL! Fredonia Records, Fredonia’s student record label, has partnered with Why Hunger for “Music to Nourish,” a night of live music to benefit the global hunger organization. The black tie event will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk on Friday, Dec. 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“Music to Nourish” will raise money for Why Hunger through ticket sales, as well as proceeds from silent auctions and raffles. Items being auctioned and raffled are donations from various benefactors, and range from autographed records to Buffalo sports jerseys. All proceeds go directly to Why Hunger, which will use the money to fund grassroots solutions to end hunger and poverty.
Live performances will be given by the local group Deanna Quinn, as well as a trio of Fredonia’s own jazz music faculty and students.
Tickets are $40 for the general public and $25 for Fredonia students. Tickets can be purchased at the Fredonia Ticket Office at 716-673-3501 or online.
Food will be provided with a purchased ticket. In addition to various appetizers, a buffet-style dinner, catered by Windjammers, will include sliced top-round beef or pasta primavera, tossed salad, rolls, vegetables and potatoes.
