The Center for Multicultural Affairs announced three students who won the Rosa Parks Award this spring: Sophomore Nakiya Peterkin, Sophomore Courtney Loiacono, and senior Lisa Alberty. They will be honored in a ceremony today at 4 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Williams Center. all are welcome.

The students competed based on the submission of creative works that addressed the theme of diversity and tolerance.

Peterkin, a musical theatre major, will read her prize-winning poem, "I Too Am Different."

Loiacono, majoring in English and minoring in women and gender studies, will read her prize-winning essay, "Media Literacy in the Classroom: A gender focus."

Alberty, a business administration major, will perform the prize-winning song she wrote, "Mi Herencia Latina (My Latin Heritage)."
