The Center for Multicultural Affairs at Fredonia is sponsoring the 26th annual Rosa Parks Scholarship Contest. Students who enter have a chance to receive a $350 scholarship, which will be rewarded to the top three entries as chosen by the judges.

The deadline to submit entries was Thursday, Feb. 19. The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at 4 p.m., in the Horizon Room in the Williams Center. Participation is free and open to all currently enrolled students.

The Rosa Parks Scholarship, established in 1989 by Dr. Vivian Garcia, was created to give Fredonia students a chance to voice their opinion on subjects of social injustice, cultural perspective, activism, or related fields, in any way they wish. Submissions should focus on an aspect of multiculturalism or social justice.

Submissions must be original and accompanied by a completed entry form. All entries must include a typed statement reflecting the content of the work. Written submissions must be double spaced, typewritten and must not exceed 10 pages. All 2D/3D work must be submitted in its original form to the Center for Multicultural Affairs. Any performance or multimedia presentations must be submitted electronically on video and must not exceed 10 minutes. All entrants' must agree to have their names publicly displayed.

Entries are due to Richard Schumacher, CMA graduate assistant, by Feb. 19 at the Center for Multicultural Affairs, and will be judged on Feb. 27.
