Fredonia Swimming and Diving celebrated Senior Day 2018 with a dual meet Saturday vs. the Cortland Red Dragons. Five of the three seniors honors prior to the meet earned individual wins. Cortland won both team events.

On the men's side, senior Graham Jones (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) tripled. He had with wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1,48.11), the 500 freestyle (5:05.17), and the 1,000 freestyle (10:29.11). In addition, senior Bill Bradley (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) touched first in both the 100 and 200 butterflies -- 53.00 seconds in the shorter event, 1:59.84 in the longer.

On the women's side, senior Taylor Chwalinski (West Seneca/West Seneca West) won the 100 butterfly in 1:04.40. She was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay, along with freshman Erin Kalsman (Portville/Portville), sophomore Lydia Gaughran (Burt/Newfane), and graduate student Chelsea Spiegel (Spencerport/Spencerport).

Other double winners Saturday came in diving. For the men, sophomore Christian Krasnek (Springville/Griffith Institute) had scores of 268.60 in the 1-meter and a zone-qualifying 297.50 in the 3-meter. For the women, freshman Ashleigh Reinhardt (Liverpool/Liverpool) scored 218.15 in the 1-meter and 213.70 in the 3-meter, resulting in her first two collegiate victories.

Fredonia's other individual winner Saturday was Kalsman in the women's 200 butterfly with a time of 2:23.81.

In addition to Jones, Bradley, and Chwalinski, the other two Blue Devil seniors honored prior to their final home meet were Ben Chatley (Sanborn/Starpoint) and Nathan Link (Grand Island/Grand Island).

The team will now begin preparing for the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championship Meet on Feb. 21-24 at the Flickinger Center in Buffalo.
