The ninth invitational ACAFEST presented by “Some Like it Hot,” Fredonia’s all-female a cappella group, is slated for Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
ACAFEST will feature performances from Fredonia on-campus a cappella groups “Much More Chill,” “Dynamic Intonation” and “Premium Blend.” In addition, there will be two guest groups performing, “The Binghamton Crosbys,” an all-male a cappella group from SUNY Binghamton, and “Vocal Accent,” Rochester Institute of Technology’s all-female a cappella group.
The event is open to the campus and the community. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for staff and community members and can be purchased at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center.
“Some Like It Hot” is Fredonia’s first, oldest and premier all-female a cappella group, which was founded in 2001 under the name “Out of the Blue.” The group started fresh with the new name in 2002. The group sings songs from rock, to pop, to hip hop. Each year, ACAFEST provides Fredonia’s campus and community an entertaining show and celebration of collegiate a cappella music.
