Benjamin Hellert, a sophomore percussion student and Music Education major from Evans, has been invited to perform a duo concerto with Keiko Abe, Japan’s leading marimba artist, at the International Junior Marimba Music Festival on Sunday, April 15, in Hiroshima, Japan.
The invitation was extended as a result of Mr. Hellert’s musical talent and participation in a workshop and master class at Toho University, Tokyo, during the summer of 2017. Hellert will also play several solo pieces at the concert.
