The student-run Business Club will host the 39th annual Business Person of the Year (BPOY) dinner honoring Charles St. George of St. George Realty on Thursday, March 10, at 6 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk.
The BPOY event recognizes business professionals in the local area for their hard work and dedication to the community. Mr. St. George was nominated by John Olsavsky, assistant professor in the Department of Accounting. Mr. Olsavsky focused on St. George’s many achievements touching on his 61-year realty business, his terms as Fredonia mayor and his dedication to the Fredonia business community.
BPOY will feature the award presentation to Mr. St. George, addresses from various members of the Business Club and keynote speaker, Fredonia Mayor Athanasia Landis, the first female to hold the office of mayor in the village.
The dinner is open to all students, staff and the general public. Tickets for students are $20 and $23 for staff/general public, and are available for purchase at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center until Saturday, March 5. Those attending will have entrée options of pasta primavera, chicken marsala or top round beef. Dessert and refreshments will be served during the award presentation.
