Student Hannah Shea's rotoscope animation, “Hyper Hypo,” was accepted into the Society of Illustrators' 2018 Student Scholarship Competition and earned her a Rockstar Games Award for Excellence in Animation third place prize of $750.

It was noted that the annual competition is extremely competitive, receiving close to 8,000 entries. There is an opening for winners in early May in New York City at the Society of Illustrators and the work will be featured in a catalog.

Ms. Shea’s animation was completed during her Spring 2017 senior capstone class and entries into the competition were from works made during the past year. Animation faculty member Jill Johnston noted that the competition is a huge event and it was an honor to be accepted.

Shea plans to continue her education at graduate school.
