The inaugural “Stars and Strikes,” a bowling fundraiser to sponsor a service dog for a deserving veteran through Western New York Heroes, will be hosted by the Fredonia Student Veterans Club on Saturday, April 22, 4 to 7 p.m., at Lucky Lanes, 10387 Bennett Road, Fredonia.

Western New York Heroes is a not-for-profit organization founded in Williamsville to assist disabled and financially challenged veterans, their dependents and the widows and children of deceased veterans.

The cost to participate in the bowling event – $11.50 for students and veterans and $12.50 for all others – includes two games, shoe rental and a door prize ticket. Door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes. A themed basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle will also be held.

Registration can be arranged at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center or by visiting online. For more information, contact the Veterans Office via email or by calling 716-673-3668.
