In a break from tradition, Fredonia’s Rockin’ the Commons has shifted from the spring to the fall semester. The event, a showcase of 10 Fredonia student bands and individual artist, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in Barker Commons in downtown Fredonia.

Rockin’ the Commons, now in its 11th year, is sponsored by Fredonia Radio Systems to raise funds for Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Live performances, a gift basket raffle, a children’s fair conducted by the Teacher Education Club and chicken barbecue dinners served by Weidner BBQ will be featured.

Performances, on the hour, will be given by “Some Like It Hot,” “Much More Chill,” “Annasun,” Danny Paladino, Deanna Civilette, “Ellsworth,” “Ruckman and the Basterds,” “Mooses,” “Sweet Apollo” and “Dollar Diplomacy.”

Gift baskets to be given away at the event will be on display in McEwen Hall on Thursday, Sept. 25, and Friday, Sept. 26. Pre-sale tickets for Weidner’s BBQ chicken dinner are available for $10 at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center.

For more information and to make donations to Roswell Park, contact Fredonia Radio Systems at 716-673-3420 or Joe Cardina by email at card4928@fredonia.edu.

The rain location will be the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on the Fredonia campus.
