Twenty one groups of SUNY Fredonia volunteers will line the streets of Fredonia and Brocton on the morning of Tuesday, April 26, as they join the Buffalo News in its 29th annual annual Kids Day fundraiser. All proceeds from papers sold tomorrow will be donated to Buffalo's Women and Children's Hospital, the Robert Warner M.D. Center for Children With Special Needs, and Children's Charities of Western New York.
"Last year we were able to raise over $4,000," said Dan Goodwin, a member of the department of Residence Life and the coordinator of this year's drive. "We hope to reach this amount again this year."
SUNY Fredonia's students will be among more than 3,000 volunteers working from approximately 1,000 locations across Western New York from 6 to 9 a.m. Since 1983, the initiative has raised roughly $3.8 million for a number of local charities.
