SUNY Fredonia invites the campus and community to wear purple on Wednesday, Oct. 16, as it plans to illuminate the campus for New York State’s annual, “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence – Partners in Purple” campaign.
The campaign was created by the N.Y.S. Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence to increase awareness of this issue and show support of victims of domestic violence. The hope is to connect communities across New York by “turning the state purple” and bringing a focus on domestic violence in October.
A brief presentation will be made in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room beginning at 1 p.m. Speakers will include President Virginia Horvath, Associate Director of Human Resources Jodi Rzepka, Dr. William Boerner from the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Employee Assistance Program Coordinator Susan Murphy and Julie Bezek from the Counseling Center.
