SUNY Fredonia employees joined hundreds of area walkers at the university’s outdoor track in the annual Relay for Life on June 12 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
To date, the SUNY Fredonia team has raised $2,158 through donations gathered from walkers and through a basket raffle held the day of the event. The team was one of 50 teams from the Dunkirk-Fredonia area which included over 500 members and raised over $88,000.
Ten campus employees from Administration, Accounting, Purchasing, the Faculty Student Association, the Campus and Community Children’s Center, and Information Technology Services-Computer Programming participated in the relay, in addition to four SUNY employee family members, an alumna and six family members.
Donations are still being encouraged. To make a donation, checks can be written to the “American Cancer Society” and mailed to Shari Miller at 402 Administrative Office Complex on campus. A donation can also be made online.
